Buzz Framework & Supporting Materials
In early 2022, Footprint approved an allocation of $4M over 5 years toward a new strategic direction that leans more fully into our connections with The Buzz community. Given that an equitable community is one that is inclusive, built on relationships and trust, and puts people at the center, Buzzers were invited to be part of this shift to put equity into practice. They were invited to reimagine a new Buzz experience, one where they are the co-creators and decision-makers that shape it based on their needs and wishes for the group and overall community.
Below are supporting documents outlining the process for their co-created framework, shared vision, and use of those funds.
Final Report

RFP: Facilitator for Community-Led Grantmaking and Mission Investing Vision, Strategy, Guidelines and Processes
Note: This RFP is no longer active but is shared here to document the process of hiring facilitators for this work.
In July 2023, Footprint sought proposals from experienced facilitators to support Buzz members as they began to step into the process of deciding how and where to allocate the Foundation’s resources in their community. Individuals or organizations with a strong background in participatory practices, facilitation, consensus-building, and social cohesion were invited to submit their proposals. Buzzers chose Reciprocity Consulting and Nopales Ink as their facilitators and work started in November 2023.
Declaration of Trust and Statement of Values
The Footprint trustees and Buzzers formally declared their trust in each other for the responsibility of allocating funds in support of Footprint’s mission.
Waggle Dances
Footprint convened Buzzers in the Fall of 2022 for a series of themed dinners/discussions called Waggle Dances as part of a process to re-engage and strengthen the Buzz community.
